Career Planning
Have you ever thought about what you want to be when you grow up? Usually, the answer to that question is a career. A "career" is a job or profession that someone does for a long time. During middle school, you will start exploring some careers and making plans to decide what you need to do for your future. There are an endless number of careers that people currently have, and people are constantly making new ones. Your school counselor would love to sit down and help you figure some of those things out!

A wide variety of Career and Technology Education (CATE) classes are available as electives that students take during high school. In the fall, all 8th graders get to go on a tour of the CATE classes at the high schools to help them get an idea of what is offered, and to help them select an endorsement. An endorsement is basically a plan of what electives and advanced classes a student will take related to a particular career cluster.
